Default first real job for a student?

i'm HS student in the US, and I'm going to earn some money in this new job, but they only write out checks, so do i have to open a new bank account or can i use my parents?

If you are 18 or older, Bank of America has CampusEdge checking:

Contact them if ou are younger. Banking laws vary from stae to state.



Avoid any pressure to geta credit card. Remember banks are in the business of dinging you for any fee they can come up with to make money for themselves. Maybe you can work out a deal with your parents to sign you checks over to them for the cash value. Avoid check cashing stores. Their fee is ridiculous. I heard on the radio today that Walmart will also cash a payroll check for $3.
