Well since adsense is free to join, and there's no fees, there's no harm in letting it run, even if you don't get $ off it, eventually you'll get traffic , and start making money. Took me 2 months to start getting ANY money at all...

Helping others and putting a link to your site in your signature is a good way to get traffic, especially on forums.

i have joined the adsense program 3 months back.in this 3 months i have earned 100 dollars and received my check recently.Presently i am getting more traffic to my site so i am earning 100 dollars a month.But the main draw back is it takes to long to receive our payment.

I haven't reached the payout yet, but out of curiousity, how long does it take to receive it, and what country you live in?

Well I used to earn about $20 per month from it but adsense disabled my account for invalid clicks. After that i havent found a good publisher.

You need good traffic to earn, and it's not always easy getting that traffic

But don't worry, don't give up, and you should be in profit, and have a nice amount of useful visitors
