i have a pay pal account and it says i have 0 dollars so do i have to transfer funds to buy something on eBay or is it automatic

Attach a credit card, and when you choose to pay by paypal, paypal will take from your credit card. On the other hand, attach a bank account and if you are selling stuff by paypal the money will go there.



EDIT: If you don't i assume you can hold a virtual credit. For example transfer say $100 to paypal, it will say $100 and you can buy up to.... $100!

No actually when you purchase something there should be a link that says pay now and then you select paypal and login and it will direct you what to do.

It will happen automatically if you have a bank account set up. However, it may delay shipment of what you buy because it will show up as e-check that has to clear on their end.
