Can AVG be used together with avast antivirus? I'm thinking if I got 2 antiviruses, I'll have more protection as AVG may not pick up what avast picks up & vice versa.

I'm not really sure if it will make it better, however I know it will make your PC run slower.

AVG should be able to detect the virus and if you were to have further doubts, then I would use an Anti-spyware tool rather than another anti virus. I know for sure that you can't run Norton and another anti-virus as they cause conflicts, so I don't recommend doing the same with AVG. However I do recommend using Avast/AVG with a firewall like the Zone Alarm one.

i think it may depend since having > 1 anti virus will hog your resources and both detection rules and dlls might have conflict and in turn may affect the way the files are scanned.

You'd better don't install two Antivirus Soft in your computer. Because i heared that if

install two Antivirus in one PC will make the PC collapsed .And slowy the activated speed of your PC.

I'm thinking if avg can't pick up the virus, avast may be able to do so & vice versa. I also have spybot search & destroy, adware lavasoft spyware, sygate firewall, XP firewall & my router firewall. So I think I should be sufficient except for the antivrus.
If anyone knows whether I can use AVG & avast please post.
Thanks.

Actually today I got my answer to this question from another forum. You can install both Avast & AVG antitvirus software in your computer without problems.
